Did You Know Ep 4 - LEDtronics Lighting Helps in Preserving Art

LEDtronics' has created lighting solutions for many museums and other historic institutions.

LEDtronics recently worked with Farnsworth Art Museum in Main to convert the entire museum from halogen to LED light bulbs. Along with 85% energy savings, the LED bulbs will help in preserving the art displayed throughout the museum.

Standard Halogen and CFL lamps give off heat and UV light which can damage the paper and fade the color of art work. LED bulbs eliminate both heat and UV light in order to create an ideal lighted environment for priceless works of art.LED bulbs can also offer a color temperature closer to natural light to aid in displaying the true color of paintings and photographs.

The Los Angeles County Natural History Museum came to LEDtronics to retrofit the decorative lights of their historic Rotunda building. 250 lights were replaced with two different kinds of bulbs for a minimum savings of 4,000 watts of energy. Along with the funds that can now be used for exhibits and other programs, the LED lights will help preserve the intricate skylight by eliminating the generated heat from the incandescent bulbs.

LEDtronics lighting can benefit museums everywhere by offering energy savings, reducing maintenance costs, improving lighting conditions for Museum patrons and avoid expensive restoration processes by eliminating heat and UV light.

LEDtronics Solutions: LED parking lot lights

Untitled Document
LEDtronics LED parking lot lights can be a solution to many problems and was for the Kingman Regional Medical Center. The Arizona Medical Center was looking to increase the lighting output in their parking lot for better use of their security cameras. After making the switch they ended up with many more benefits.

Through their local area representatives, Howard Industrial Sales, LEDtronics retrofitted 104 lamps with LED shoebox style street lights. The medical center was using 250-watt HPS lamps that were spaced 40-60 feet apart in the parking lot.

The HPS fixtures were upgraded to 88-watt LED luminaires that resulted in:
  • Better light output
  • Better detail clarity for the security cameras
  • 202 watts of energy savings per fixture
  • Less maintenance in the way of bulb and ballast replacement
  • Light weight, durable lamps that are warranty protected for 5 years
The upgrade coincided with Kingman Regional Medical Center’s move towards taking environmentally conscious actions and undertaking a leadership position in green solutions in their community.

They are now consuming 60% less energy with their parking lot lights and are projected to save slightly in excess of $100,000. LEDtronics was pleased to hear of Kingman Medical’s satisfaction and considers the project a great success.
